- One deadline per week, same day, same hour, all term. Sunday at 11:59 p.m. works because students plan their weekends around it.
- Cap graded submissions at three per week. The activity log, one short reflection, one skill or knowledge task. Past three, students start triaging.
- Publish the entire term on day one. Every module open, every due date on the LMS calendar, so students on night shifts can get ahead.
- Open each week with a two-minute anchor video naming the focus and the one thing to watch for. Cheapest attendance signal you have.
- Budget three to four hours a week including the exercise, and print the number in the syllabus. Students who know the cost commit to it.
A realistic week in the life of one module

- Screenshot upload. A fallback for a student whose device will not connect. It costs manual review and it is the easiest method to fake, so treat it as temporary.
- Timestamped photo or short video. Good for skill demonstration and form feedback, with a grading load that climbs fast. Reserve it for two or three checkpoints a term.
- Live check-in (highest friction). A ten-minute video meeting where the student performs a movement while you watch. Strongest evidence, hardest to schedule, so save it for a midterm and a final.
Most courses land on device sync as the daily backbone, reflection as the weekly layer, and one or two live checkpoints per term. That combination catches the honest student who forgets to log and makes fabrication tedious enough that almost nobody bothers.

Run a pre-test in week one and a post-test in the final two weeks on the same protocol. - Cardio. Walking is the workhorse and needs no space. Add stair intervals, low-impact circuits for apartment floors, and cycling or swimming for students who have access.
- Mobility and recovery. Ten-minute routines fit anywhere and give sedentary students an entry point.
- Skill work. Balance, coordination, and movement quality tasks that film well in a small frame.
