Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making eFit accessible to everyone

Our Commitment

eFit Software is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

We believe that fitness and physical education should be accessible to all students, regardless of ability. Our software is designed to accommodate users with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

Accessibility Standards

The guidelines we follow to ensure accessibility

AAA

WCAG 2.2 AAA Target

We strive to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AAA standards, the highest level of accessibility conformance. While we work toward full AAA compliance, we currently meet or exceed AA standards across the platform.

Section 508 Compliant

eFit Software complies with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, making our platform accessible for use in U.S. federal agencies and educational institutions receiving federal funding.

ADA Compliant

Our platform is designed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring equal access to our services for individuals with disabilities.

Accessibility Features

How we make eFit accessible to all users

High Contrast

All text meets or exceeds 7:1 contrast ratio (WCAG AAA) for maximum readability. We support system-level dark mode preferences.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Visible focus indicators help users navigate without a mouse.

Screen Reader Support

Full ARIA labeling and semantic HTML ensure compatibility with popular screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.

Scalable Text

Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. We use relative units throughout.

Large Touch Targets

Buttons and interactive elements are sized for easy tapping on touch devices, meeting minimum 44x44 pixel targets.

Reduced Motion

Animations are disabled automatically when users have the "reduce motion" preference enabled in their operating system.

Adaptive Goal Setting

We understand that not all students have the same physical abilities. eFit allows instructors to set individualized goals for students with different needs:

  • Custom step and activity targets per student
  • Adjusted fitness assessment benchmarks
  • Alternative activity options for limited mobility
  • Flexible grading accommodations
  • Multiple input methods for logging activity
Standard Goal 10,000 steps
Custom Goal (Student A) 5,000 steps
Alternative (Student B) 30 min activity

Instructors can set different goals while maintaining fair grading

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge some current limitations:

  • Some third-party fitness tracker integrations may have their own accessibility limitations
  • Certain older PDF reports may not be fully screen reader compatible (we're updating these)
  • Some complex data visualizations may require alternative text descriptions

We are actively working to address these issues and improve accessibility across all areas of our platform.

Report an Accessibility Issue

We want eFit to be accessible to everyone. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know.

When reporting an issue, please include the page URL, a description of the problem, and the assistive technology you're using (if applicable).

Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)

For institutional procurement purposes, we provide a VPAT document detailing our conformance with Section 508 and WCAG guidelines.
