No smartwatch required.
A phone counts steps on its own. With eFit, every student can earn full activity credit with the phone they already carry, and students who own a tracker can use that too.
Faculty accounts are free. Student access is $59 per student, per semester.

A student's own step history, turned into a 3D lab.
Every student can connect
iPhone
Students connect Apple Health once. The iPhone counts steps by itself, and an Apple Watch adds workouts and active minutes.
Android
Students connect Google Health once. The phone counts steps by itself, and any tracker that syncs to Google Health adds active minutes.
Any tracker they own
Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, Samsung Galaxy Watch, and other trackers that sync to Google Health or Apple Health all work. Nobody has to buy one.
How the default scale treats every student the same
Each week counts the best 5 of 7 days, and a student earns the higher of two scores: average daily steps, where 10,000 earns full credit, or weekly active minutes, where 100 earns full credit. A student with only a phone can reach full credit on steps alone.
Private by design
- Students grant read-only access to their activity data
- FERPA compliant, with 256-bit SSL encryption
- On the Walking Journey, classmates appear only as unnamed markers
- eFit is for students 13 and older
What arrives: dated steps and active minutes for each day.

Questions faculty ask
Does a student without a smartwatch earn less?
No. The default scale awards the higher of the steps score or the minutes score, and a phone counts steps on its own, so a phone-only student can earn full credit.
Which phones work?
iPhones through Apple Health and Android phones through Google Health.
Which trackers work?
Any tracker that syncs to Google Health, including Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, and Samsung, plus Apple Watch through Apple Health on iPhone.
What data does eFit see?
Read-only activity data the student grants through Google Health or Apple Health, such as daily steps and active minutes.
What about students who do not have a smartphone?
Contact us before the term starts and we will go through the options for your course with you.
